On Friday this week, it will be the fifth annual Wear Yellow Day for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, and the third year running that I have chatted about it here on the blog. In previous years, I have posted on the day itself and included my yellow outfit, but this year I wanted to talk about the campaign in advance to give you some more information about it then hope you will join me in posting a #cfyelfie for the day itself!
Wear Yellow Day is part of the wider CF Week, which in 2018 is focusing on the concept of time over the course of four profiles: Michelle, who is the parent of a child with CF; Chloe, who talks about being a student with the condition; Amy, who shares what it is like to have CF in the workplace; and Dom, who received a double lung transplant in 2014. CF Week 2018 is aimed at highlighting the time that Cystic Fibrosis can both take away from a person, and in some cases the time it can give back.
how to get involved with wear yellow day 2018
If you’d like to get involved with Wear Yellow Day 2018 to help raise money for the CF Trust and spread awareness of the condition, then please wear something yellow on Friday, take a selfie, and upload it to any of your social media using the tag #cfyelfie. Once you’ve posted, challenge friends and family to do the same, and if you are able to make a donation then please text Yellow to 70500 to donate £5 or visit the website for other amounts / other ways to help.
In 2017, over 110 events took place across the UK for Wear Yellow Day and in total over £40,000 was raised. This is amazing, but for 2018 we’re aiming for even more. So, I’d love it if you would join me in wearing yellow and posting your #cfyelfie this coming Friday; I can’t wait to see your sunny outfits!
