I’m very excited about autumn dressing, usually at the change over of seasons I start to feel so invigorated and inspired by clothes again. Over the next couple of weeks I plan on wearing some of the old favourites again, the ones that I’ve had stowed away since March. This sweet little denim shift dress from last year is a good start. I paired it with a brand new favourite; this cute leopard print pussy bow blouse.
I have a lot of love for this shift dress, it’s so comfortable and easy to wear. The material isn’t as heavy as denim so it’s nice and light, but it does mean that it creases a lot quicker. The bows at the shoulders serve no functional purpose at all but it does have pockets. I did have a moment before I left the house in this outfit when I wondered… is this too many bows? But come on, you can never have too many bows!
The blouse is part of the new season collection over at Simply Be [affiliate link], it’s slightly sheer and very floaty with a good sized bow at the neck. The sleeves are gathered, and I enjoy the effect very much, but I just wish they were longer as I found myself constantly tugging at them.
My make up was really simple, aside from my usual foundation products I used the Sleek Makeup Faceform Palette [affiliate link] in Fair (read my review of it here) and my current favourite Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette [affiliate link]. I’m still narrowing down what is going to be my signature autumn lipstick shade this year and as much as I would love it to be this classic Rimmel Heather Shimmer [affiliate link], that’s been my go to for the last few years and I want to switch it up!

Overall I love the leopard print and denim combination and I will get so much wear out of both of these pieces all season. I’m still undecided about the amount of bows in the look though, I remember last season I considered cutting the bows off the shift dress as they are purely decorative and I still think it’s something I might do. I can’t tell you just how much I’ve loved digging out all my autumnal pieces from the back of the wardrobe. Opaques and chunky boots make my heart sing, I can’t wait for you to see what I have coming up!
