Well, it’s official: I am now well and truly into my mid-thirties. If you’re part of the gang over on Instagram then you’ll have noticed that it was my birthday last weekend, but because it’s so close to the wedding I decided to keep the celebrations as laid back as possible.
The lovely people at Elvi recently sent me over this stunning floral tiered hem slip cami dress* [gifted] from their brand new AW18 collection and I just knew it would be the perfect piece to see me through a low key, late summer birthday afternoon.
This is the first dress from Elvi I have owned, and one of the first things that struck me about it is the quality of the fabric and construction. I’m completely in love with the print, the relaxed styling, and the tiered ruffle detailing at the hem. There are plenty of design touches here that keep this cami dress feeling contemporary and current, yet it also has a timelessness about it that I feel will keep it wearable season after season.
This cami dress is cut generously, I went with my usual size and the fit is slightly oversized with the tailored shape skimming my body comfortably. If you are at the small end of a size, you could probably size down for a more fitted look, but I like the relaxed fit my usual size gives me here.
The straps are adjustable, which is a feature I love as it allows me more flexibility with the fit. Similarly, the length is brilliant too, with the straps loosened it comes to a decent below-the-knee midi length on me which, at 5’10”, is a detail I am always very grateful for!

Elvi’s new AW18 collection in general is absolutely lovely. It’s sleek, wearable, and uses the most delicious autumnal tones that still work for warmer late summer weather too. A lot of the pieces look perfect for transitional layering! I’ve particularly got my eye on the long sleeved midi tea dress in the same print as this cami dress, and a gorgeous sheer navy blouse.
I’ll be featuring this dress again when I come to write my honeymoon outfit roundup as I’m definitely taking it with me, it’s going to be ideal for those balmy evenings out. And with that, it’s time for me to take a short break from posting to get married and have my honeymoon; you can keep up to date with what I’m getting up to day-to-day over on my social media, and I will see you back here in a few weeks.
