I genuinely love BooHoo Plus; for me they strike the right balance of affordability and decent design without sacrificing too much in the way of quality. Initially the range wasn’t too inclusive, only going up to a size 24 in most cases. However, they have recently started to introduce items that go up to a size 28, which is a definite move in the right direction and one that should be encouraged, and I really hope they continue to introduce more inclusive measures.
So, without further ado let me share with you this lovely, relaxed summer outfit by BooHoo Plus which only costs £18 at full retail price.
These photos were taken on what turned out to be easily the hottest day of the year so far, I’m used to a maximum of around 20°C in the summer up here but we were approaching 30°C and the day called for as little clothing as possible. This daisy print swing top and rust coloured tube skirt have been sat in my wardrobe waiting for exactly this kind of occasion, so the timing was perfect.
The skirt is a gorgeous burnt orange colour (which will look amazing with opaques / loafers in Autumn btw) and is made of a stretchy, ribbed material that is really comfortable to wear. This is a size UK20 and the fit is spot on, maybe even erring on the side of generous, I also love that the length is below the knee as very often these stretchy tube-type pencil skirts are a little short for me. This skirt is currently available online for £10 (link below).
The top is a joy to wear, it’s a swing top and is designed to have an oversized slouchy fit. Again I went for a size UK20 and it fits so well. You could probably size down once or even twice if you prefer a closer fit, but in the heat the floatyness was an absolute godsend. The fact it’s 100% cotton is great in the warm weather too. I very much enjoy the daisy print, a sweet little nod to the 90’s that I just can’t resist. The top is currently available online for £8 (link below).
The bag was a really thoughtful birthday gift from my boyfriend’s parents, it’s actually made from a vintage coat and belt with added rainbow fringing. What’s not to love!? This was bought locally, the lady that makes them doesn’t have an online store but the bag is too lovely not to share.
Aside from my old faithful, Rimmel’s Heather Shimmer lip colour, I tried out new bits and pieces from some of my favourite affordable make up lines for this look. I used the Fortune Favours the Brave palette by Make Up Revolution on my eyes and the Highlighter Palette from Sleek in ‘Solstice’ in place of my usual highlight.
I have also had a bit of an eyebrow upgrade lately and swapped out my old MAC Eye Brow for the NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade, as recommended to me via Twitter by the ever awesome social media wizards / all round babes at Navabi.
