I’ve been really excited to style this sweet little jacquard skater dress as it has a turtle neck which is very much the thing at the moment; so I braved a gloriously sunny, but viciously windy, Scottish winter day to venture outside and get some outfit pictures for you guys.

I love the simplicity of this dress, its a great foundation to work from. I’ve accessorised with a chunky gold necklace and oversized teardrop studs, but this turtle neck style could take a multitude of big statement necklaces and scarves with ease. The sleeves are a very good length to avoid cold upper arms and nicely snug without being restrictive. The waist is cut a little on the high side for me, but on most it should be absolutely fine. From the back you can see the lumps and bumps of my underwear, but I think that these criticisms overall are due to the size.

After looking at the sizing information on the website I chose a size 18, in hindsight I should have chosen a 20. This would give me a bit more length, a slightly lower waist and more room for boobs meaning a better fit. So, if you’re deliberating between sizes, I’d definitely recommend going for the larger.

As I mentioned, this dress is a little on the short side, so I knew that I would be pairing it with some good opaque tights. I chose a rich wine colour to add a little life to the black shoes and dress. I’m newly converted to the wonders of Primark tights, this opaque wine pair are an XL and they are so roomy; crucially there is no rolling down over my belly at all. Additionally, they are genuinely opaque which is pretty good going for tights that retail at £3.

I’m very much enjoying the textures of this outfit, the jacquard of the dress and the faux fur of the coat sit well together adding depth to the colours and style. Chunky gold-tone jewellery always helps to glam up a more basic winter outfit, I would day-to-night the hell out of this look with no issues at all.
