Today’s outfit post is a quick and simple look that I wore to go out and catch a matinee showing of the new Amy Winehouse documentary, before heading out for drinks. I adore Amy Winehouse – I’ll never be over it – her story is heartbreaking and incredible and amazing all at once. I really feel as if there was no other colour I could have chosen for foundation of this look.
Starting with the cardigan, it’s something I have had for ages but never felt comfortable wearing outside of the festive party season as I always felt like it’s a Christmas jumper. I picked it up for an absolute steal in the ASOS sale a good few years ago, it’s so soft and well made. I’m deciding to give it new life as an all-year-round glam cardigan.
The top underneath is a sleeveless bodysuit from BooHoo. This is from the main range and only goes up to a 16, which is not ideal, but the sizing is so generous; I’m at the absolute top end of 18 and there’s still plenty of room to spare.
These black M&S pencil skirts are wonderfully cheap and last for YONKS, I’ve had the one I’m wearing here for around 4 years and it’s still going strong. For under £20, that’s definitely value for money. I like them as they’re cut pretty generously – I can still wear a 16 comfortably – my favourite is the longer length 27″ which sits nicely below the knee and goes up to a size 20. A wider range of sizes would be preferable, as this basic cut pencil skirt is so easy to wear and dress up or down depending on mood. I’m wearing no shapewear underneath, because fuck that.
*Edited to add: The orangey/red lip is a combination of Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lipliner in Red Dynamite and Dior Diorific in 013 Roulette Red – see more about my summer lipstick favourites here.
