ASOS Leopard Print Dress

ASOS Leopard Print Dress

I am a vocal and unashamed lover of leopard print, I can’t get enough of it. Whether it’s in vogue or not, I will wear it. So when I found this ASOS dress in a charity shop for a fiver, it was a no brainer – I made it mine.

I so enjoyed wearing this dress, it’s one of those pieces that make a statement of their own so don’t need to be accessorised as much. I wore black opaque tights (thank god opaque tights season is back!), black flats and a simple chunky gold bracelet. The dress is very much true to size, which is good as there is little give in the thick material.

One thing that doesn’t show too well in these pictures are the flecks of shimmery thread woven throughout the pattern, just enough to look expensive rather than teen disco. At the neck there is a large bow in the general draping which I thought was pretty cute, the high neck looks great and although it’s made of thick, stiff material I didn’t find it so tight at the throat as to be annoying.

So lets talk about the pockets! This dress, strangely, has pockets. I usually love this addition in pretty much anything, but here they ruin the line of the skirt and I found myself flattening them all night. When looking for similar dresses to link to from this post I was surprised to see it is still available to buy. However, I thought it must be an ASOS Curve dress, as it’s an 18, but it turns out it’s from their standard range which only goes up to an 18. Here’s an Alice & You dress in a similar vein if you’re loving the leopard print and an ASOS Curve dress of a similar high necked cut if that’s more your thing.

I wore minimal (for me) make up, getting my bronze on with a YSL bronzer, and matching my lipstick to the gold tones in the dress by wearing a mixture of a peachy Dior lipstick with the nude Kate Moss for Rimmel over the top. To leave the house, I chucked on my favourite wrap to keep out the chill and I quite like the clash of prints that happened here!
