Now and again a brand comes along that is so exciting and positive that you just know they are destined for great things. When I heard about Source Vintage; that they planned to be not only gender neutral but also size inclusive, I jumped at the chance to go along to help out with shooting their stock ahead of the website launch on the 28th May.
Team Source Vintage (Stephen and Liina) simply want clothes buying to be non-discriminatory, fun and based on what you actually want to wear rather than what others seem to think you should. As soon as I met them, I couldn’t help but get swept up in it all; the enthusiasm and sheer joy surrounding this project is infectious. I am so excited to see that part of their plan is bringing diverse and interesting vintage plus size pieces to the market. Their plus size stock is a riot of colour, silks, great 90’s shirts and summer dresses. I can’t wait for you all to see the full spring / summer range when it launches at the end of the month.
While I was being photographed in outfits for the site, Liina from Team Source Vintage very kindly took some photos on my phone so I could give you all a good idea of what it was like. I’m so happy that she managed to catch a picture of me doing my double thumbs up. Also pictured below is the wonderful Bryoney, who was modelling some absolutely banging outfits for the site that day too, it was such a pleasure to meet and work with her. I’m very much enjoying that we found matching coloured tops for a Source Vintage ‘plus size crew’ photo.
The photographer on shoot that day, Lydia, definitely helped with the relaxed, fun and chilled out atmosphere (especially in the face of some minor but persistent technical lighting issues!!). Her attention to detail is just so lovely, it turns out that some of my absolute favourite photos from the day don’t even have my face in them… All of the photographs are 100% photoshop free, no retouching or editing of any kind, the same is true of all of the photography across the Source vintage shop.
Source Vintage launches on the 28th May, there is more information to be found on the Facebook event for the launch here if you’d like to set yourself a little reminder. All the above items pictured, plus so much more, will be available to buy from their website. If you’re a plus size vintage lover who, like me, has struggled to find interesting plus size vintage pieces then head over to their site on launch day and show them some love.
